The monks who live high on the mountains of Urndhyn meditate daily, trying to reach a different plane of understanding and existence. The wind in this region is particularly strong and changes direction at the drop of a hat. One particular monk studied the wind, thinking it an entry way to another plane. To study it further Obad-Hai thought that if he stretched his habit it could catch the wind and study it more. Catch the wind it did, and pulled him off of the mountaintop monastery, leaving him to free-fall down the mountain. Catching the wind Obad-Hai calculated the wind’s direction and used it to glide down safely into a lake at the foot of the mountain. Once landing there was no way back up to the monastery, you are brought once by invitation, and then the pass is blocked. Obad-Hai set out on his journey with the knowledge of the wind, taming it over time to do his bidding. Anything in the wind Obad-Hai learned to control and master, hurricanes, tornadoes, gale force winds, and directional bursts. After years of training his mastery of the element was discovered and he was rewarded with a position in the realm of the Gods.
